The Alain Organ in Switzerland

…built by an ingenius father for his four musically talented children, the instrument which inspired the compositions of Jehan Alain and provided the earliest training for recitalist Marie-Claire Alain now has a new home in Romainmotier.

Recorded during a June, 1991 festival celebrating the restoration and rededication of this historic instrument under the auspices of the Association Jehan Alain, performers include Marie-Claire Alain, James Kibbie, Pierre Segond, Babbet1e Mondry, Yves Rechsteiner, Pierre Perdigon and Ludger Lohmann. A special cassette of other festival performances and a compact disc featuring Marie-Claire Alain playing additional works of her father and brother Gallo CD-683 are available to interested collectors.
