Pipe Dreams presented music played on a Pedal Piano. It was wonderful. I have never seen one. What does a Pedal Piano look like?

Glad you enjoyed discovering the pedal piano.  Google 'pedal piano' and see the wikipedia article on same.  Also, click on '1835 Pleyel pedal piano' in the program listings online for "Assessing Alkan" at www.pipedreams.org.

That should tell you what you need to know.
