| Celebrating the pipe organ, the King of Instruments |
April 29, 2013
Hi Michael,
I'm sure you get hundreds of messages per day but, I do have a question I hope you can answer for me. The January 12, 2004 edition of Pipedreams celebrated the life of the late and great Catharine Crozier. At the very beginning of the program immediately following the introduction by Minnesota Public Radio, there is a very nice and quiet meditation-like piece on a flute stop that presumably Catharine is playing, followed by a reflections from her students and colleagues. I have been trying to find out what that piece is, but have had no luck so far. Do you by chance know what it is? I'd really like to learn it for advent.
Thanks again for checking. Hope all is well with you.
Michael Bell
Michael,
That music is "The Nest in Old North Church" from "Views from the Oldest House" by Ned Rorem (Delos 3076)…a CD from which I am borrowing three additional movements to be included in next week's program.
