Mailbag: “AGO on the Radio (is it a go?)”

August 27, 2010

Dear Michael,

I attended and greatly enjoyed the AGO Washington Convention this summer, and noted that most of the events were being professionally recorded. I am especially keen to hear again the music of Matthew Glandorf from the Franciscan Monastery, and am wondering if this will be broadcast on Pipedreams or whether I may obtain it directly as a recording.
With best wishes and many thanks for an excellent program.

Mike

Mike,

For the first time since 1980, the AGO took upon itself the responsibility of recording its national convention concerts (heretofore I had been the responsible agent). I expect eventually to received copies of the recordings from 2010 from the Washington DC AGO chapter operatives, but as yet have nothing in hand. I also have a huge backlog of materials as yet unused from AGO conventions here in the Twin Cities (MN) as well as Los Angeles, Chicago and Philadelphia, so I cannot guarantee when the Glandorf material might appear on PIPEDREAMS. Nor do I know to what use the AGO itself might put the materials (all of which must pass muster by the players, who must sign-off clearances for any media use).
Thanks for emailing and connecting from Gloucester (not Massachusetts!).
