Mailbag: “AGO on the Radio?”

Dear Michael,

Just a quick comment. Am looking forward to the broadcast of your recordings from the AGO convention in Washington, DC. I heard the Toccata Festiva by Samual Barber was wonderful.

Kerm,

I’m not sure that any recording was made of the Barber Toccata (union costs for the orchestra may have been prohibitive). I’m not in charge of Convention recordings any more (I’ve handed that off to AGO to oversee directly), so can only broadcast what is provided to me. It may take a while (and I still have plenty from 2004, 2006 and 2008 conventions as yet unheard).
