Celebrating the pipe organ, the King of Instruments |

Dear Michael,
WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOUR AUDIO FEED ON YOUR “LISTEN...” BUTTON?
Glenn
Glenn,
I don’t know...what happened? It works fine at my desk. Which program, which part?
Oh ye of little patience...when was the last time you listened online? The appeal lasts all of 20 seconds, then the audio plays.
Remember, it costs us to provide the audio, so we are happy when people, realizing this, respond to our appeal for contributions. There is no free lunch... :-)

Michael,
When I click on any of the “Listen to...” items on your Webpage, a panel appears which is an appeal for contributions, whereas previously a panel appeared which displayed and activated an audio player paying the selected item.

Glenn responds,
Free lunch!? With capital investment (for computer and audio gear) and operating charges (to AT&T and Com Ed), listening to Pipedreams - or anything - on the internet is hardly free. But I take your point, and it's a good one.
The last time I worked your site, hitting the “listen” button caused the same panel (soliciting support) to come up, but this time the audio player appeared with it and the audio program started - without delay. Something at your end of the system had changed, restoring the audio feed. Which is most satisfying - particularly since WFMT has cut you off at the knees.
And Thank You! for your good responses. And, again, for your fine programming
Glenn
