Celebrating the pipe organ, the King of Instruments |
May 30, 2007
Dear Michael,
I visited an Italian built pipe organ in the city of Bangalore in India. It had a stop named Ripieno. What does it mean? what kind of stop/rank are these pipes
Warm regards,
Commodore Champion
Comodore,
The “Ripieno” stop simply pulls on all of the registers in the ‘principal chorus’ to create a quick ‘tutti’…a mechanical version of the electric ‘sforzando’ button, perhaps.
