Mailbag: “Ton Koopman?”

Dear Michael,
Regarding Andrew McGregor’s statement last December at the BBC “Ton Koopman’s complete Bach organ works is currently unavailable, but will be reissued in the Autumn of 2006”. Have the Pipedreams folks heard any confirmation of whether this is still in fact the case?

Dear Steve,
I don’t believe that Koopman’s complete Telefunken/Teldec Bach cycle was ever all available in the USA. Since the demise of that label several years ago. He’s been buying back his performances and issuing them on the Challenge Classics label in the Netherlands, and I suggest that you communicate with them for more information.
Though not complete, this Koopman Bach set is available once more.
