For adventuresome and broad-minded viewers, Paul Festa’s provocative film Apparition of the Eternal Church explores the unexpected responses of a variety of people to a first-time hearing of Olivier Messiaen’s mesmerizing 1931 score, a fascinating portrait of how people listen to music.

The Rochester (NY) Auditorium Theater Wurlitzer (see JULE STYNE above) is featured in a new season of concerts beginning September 14 with an appearance by Jonathan Ortloff, who played there in a previous PIPEDREAMS program).
