The instrument at Cornell is a ‘fantasy reconstruction’ of an organ destroyed during World War II, originally made in 1706 by Arp Schnitger for the Eosander Chapel in Berlin 's Charlottenburg Castle. The project involved scholars at the Gothenburg Organ Art Center (GOArt) in Sweden, craftsmen from the shop of Parsons Pipe Organ Builders in Bristol, NY, and Ithaca cabinet-maker Christopher Lowe, all working under the direction of Munetaka Yokota. Performances were recorded by Roger Sherman for the Westfield Center for Historical Keyboard Studies.

The organ by Fritz Noack is one of a pair of recent projects initiated by the Archdiocese of La Crosse, WI. Though following ‘classical principals’ of design, it is a contemporary, eclectic instrument.
