Emma Lou Diemer
Emma Lou Diemer

All Things Bright and Beautiful

Psalms of praise and songs of high spirits infuse this week's Pipedreams broadcast, when our special guest is composer and organist Emma Lou Diemer. She determined as a child to be a composer, and over seven decades she has created hundreds of works in every imaginable medium, from school operas to electronic fantasies. She shares some of her art - and her enthusiasm - with us as we listen to concert performances from churches in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Thousand Oaks, California, and recordings from the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas. Joan DeVee Dixon and the Emmanuel Brass join in, too. Michael Barone is your host this Sunday, beginning at 9:25 on American Public Media.

Program Broadcast dates:
