A collaboration with Ken Double, President of the American Theatre Organ Society for a sampler of the popular-organ art.
After a meticulous multi-year restoration, the 10,000-pipes of the 1930 Aeolian organ in the conservatory ballroom at the former Pierre du Pont estate in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania sound more magnificent than ever.
For those of you who love organ music and are prone to the idea of adventure an immersion, consider these upcoming opportunities:
Organix 12, May 7 to June 6, 2012
Toronto, Ontario, Canada…a month-long organ festival held in Toronto, a literal banquet for organ lovers with an international roster of soloists…from Diane Bish to a Young Organist Competition…featured in afternoon and evening programs.
AGO, June 30-July 7, 2012
Nashville, TN…the American Guild of Organists biennial jamboree visits Music City for a week of round-the-clock concerts and workshops for the organ professional or the organically-inclined; open to members and non-members alike, with options for single-day registration.
ATOS, July 2-8, 2012
Los Angeles, CA…an option for the theatre-organ buff, the American Theatre Organ Society’s annual gathering explores colorful venues in southern California.
OHS, July 8-13, 2012 in
Chicago, IL…last but by no means least, the convivial Organ Historical Society’s list of artists and instruments can stand comparison with any. And this group's hymn-singing (there's one sung at each concert) sets international standards for goose-bumps! Again, the week is open to members and non-members, with single-day registration options available.
